You can go to some of the other islands and you can also explore the mountains behind CP 1 and 3 in Dockyard. This is what worked for me, lay down take your crosshair from your Pistol and point it to the ground down by your elbow, hold your left trigger button in at all times, now while holding your trigger button in Press Down and back on your left joey stick at the same time you press down the button with the circle. You should be getting a learching forward motion. It takes practice, Keep the trigger button in and repeat the joey stick and circle button procedure Twice. Do this as Fast as you can, sometimes you can get through doing it once and this will get you out of bounds to explore other places in different maps and modes, this was done in survival mode. Also once you go into the water in the dockyard there is not a way out of the water back to the main map that I have found yet. and when you go up the last set of steps to lighthouse you are stuck there.
