The cheapest way to test ketones is with ketone urine strips. These urine strips are cheap and handy, but not the most reliable. https://bit.ly/2SBf1bu Ketone breath meters and ketone breath analyzers are relatively expensive and also not the most reliable. https://levlnow.com/ Ketone blood meters are the most common and the most direct way to test the ketone bodies in your blood. https://keto-mojo.com/ Anything over .5mmol/L is considered "in ketosis", and beginners will often test their ketone readings in levels as high as 8mmol/L. Higher numbers aren't necessarily better; as your body becomes more fat adapted (usually after 4-12 weeks of strict ketogenic dieting) your body will start USING the ketones instead of just having them float around in your blood, so your readings may be lower. Don't fret, just keep them above .5mmol/L. Once you become fat adapted, testing your ketone levels become less and less important, but I highly recommend testing regularly while you start your ketogenic journey to get to know what kicks you out of ketosis.
