Warm up for golf with dynamic stretches and low resistance exercises, and you can drive the golf ball up to 45 yards further. These senior warm up exercises for golfers will prepare you fully for swinging a golf club efficiently and freely, reducing the chance of injury. This is a low impact, 10 minute workout at home or on the practice tee. Designed as a golf warm up for seniors, this easy routine will benefit golfers of all levels and ages, including junior and women golfers. Light resistance exercises can increase strength and power output immediately, by 14% (Hadid et al 2014). However, static stretching can reduce strength by up to 28% (Fowles et al 2000). Our simple and effective routine includes dynamic stretching, as well as some light resistance, preparing your body fully for the challenges of playing golf. Of course, not everyone will hit the golf ball 45 yards further but if you’re at all invested in improving your golf game, this is probably the fastest, easiest and most inexpensive way you can improve your performance on the golf course. At the very least, by incorporating this 10 minute warm up into your daily routine, you will reduce any chance of injury, improve mobility and feel more prepared on the 1st tee! Together, they are certified in Advanced Golf Coaching, Golf Psychology, TPI (Body-Swing Connection), NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Personal Development and Skill Acquisition. Steve and Glen are not ‘Method’ coaches. They recognise that there are literally 1000’s of ways to swing a golf club! Rather than try to ‘change’ your swing, their goal is to help You Be The Best Golfer You Can Be! Skill Development vs Technical Changes Although technique is an important factor in improving a golfer’s performance, Skill Development is largely neglected in golf coaching today. Skill is something that can be tangibly improved with proper understanding of the golf impact laws and effective practice towards improved performance. External Focus of Attention Most golf teaching involves an internal focus. Common suggestions might include increased hip turn, a still head or improved hand path. These are all factors of the golf swing, which many golfers and teachers consider important. However, as they are focused internally, on movements of the body, golfers find changes extremely difficult to process.
