The First Trial of the T-34
We got a new event to go along with the new battle pas that released yesterday. In March 1940, two prototype T-34 tanks began their test run from Kharkov to Moscow. Moving at night, in strict secrecy, avoiding major cities and roads, they had to cover 750 kilometers on snow-covered roads. The tanks were accompanied by the designers directly involved in their development, including the chief designer of the project, Mikhail Ilyich Koshkin. The vehicles completed the journey in 5 days without major breakdowns, and after a series of tests in Kubinka, Koshkin personally presented them to the country's leadership at Red Square on March 30, 1940. The protocol to launch the tank’s serial production was signed the very next day. However, Koshkin was not destined to see the success of his creation in battle. On the return journey to Kharkov, he fell seriously ill with pneumonia that later led to his death on September 26, 1940. #enlisted #enlistedupdate #enlistedevent
