The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) Chief Executive Officer is expected to brief members of the public in the coming week about the social grant reviews that are being undertaken on targeted beneficiaries suspected of having additional sources of income that was not disclosed to the Agency. Amongst many other issues, the agency is set to address issues surrounding its inability to appoint a credible grant payment service provider as this will jeopardize as many as two-million SASSA beneficiaries who may not be paid from October 2025 onwards.
