This is round 2 of the 2003 Chevy Trucks 250cc AMA Motocross Championship from Prairie City SVRA Park in Sacramento, CA. Returning stars such as 250cc rookie Chad Reed, 2000 125cc champ Travis Pastrana, Stephane Roncada, Mike LaRocco, Ernesto Fonseca, Nathan Ramsey, Ezra Lusk, 250cc Motocross Sophomore Sean Hamblin, 2002 MX runner-up Tim Ferry, Nick Wey, Sebastien Tortelli, Larry Ward, David Vuillemin, Kevin Windham, Kyle Lewis, John Dowd, and 3-time defending champ Ricky Carmichael battle it out for the 2003 Chevy Trucks 250cc Motocross Championship. This series features a season long battle between Honda riders Ricky Carmichael and (the rejuvenated) Kevin Windham. This is the rookie 250cc Motocross series for Chad Reed and Ernesto Fonseca, and also features the return of Kevin Windham after injuring his femur at the 2002 Atlanta Supercross. Ricky Carmichael goes for 32 consecutive 250cc moto wins and 17 straight overall wins after sweeping the 2002 Motocross Championship (28 straight moto wins if you count him losing the first 125cc moto at Steel City in 2001). This race is well known for Kevin Windham winning 250cc moto #1 -- his first since he swept the Steel City National in 2001 -- and stopping that 30-moto win streak from Ricky Carmichael, but not the overall as a crash in moto #2 and recovering for a 6th place (4th overall) interrupted those plans. Ricky Carmichael ties the great Jeremy McGrath's record of 89 career AMA Supercross/Motocross wins. Enjoy.
