Enjoy our trip and stay at Gross Barmen, Namibia which is located near Okahandja, some 85km from Namibia's capital Windhoek and approximately 1 hours drive. The first Rhenish mission was established here at Gross Barmen in late 1844. They named the place Barmen after the town Barmen (today part of Wuppertal) in Germany where the headquarters of the Rhenish Missionary Society were located. The recreational centre at Gross Barmen was built in 1977. The water of the hot spring comes from a depth of 2,500 m. It exits the ground at 65 °C and is cooled down to around 40 °C for the thermal bath. Gross Barmen is managed by Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR). Besides the thermal bath, a restaurant and overnight accommodation is available. This is our 2nd travel vlog, shot it in April 2022.
