Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world, and every evening, thousands gather along the Ganges River for a powerful ritual known as the Ganga Aarti. As a foreigner seeing this for the first time, I didn’t want to just watch it as a tourist — I wanted to understand what it really means. So I spoke directly with locals, a chai seller, and another traveler to hear their perspectives on the ritual, faith, and spirituality in Varanasi. In this video, you’ll hear locals explain the meaning of the ceremony, why it’s important to them, and what someone visiting India for the first time should take away from it. I also reflect on my own experience witnessing it up close. This trip has been less about sightseeing and more about human connection — conversations, beliefs, and unexpected moments with strangers. More India vlogs are coming soon. Thanks for being here 🤍 📍 Filmed in Varanasi, India ▶️ Watch my previous vlog where strangers invited me for chai in India:
