Discover insights into Eosinophilic Oesophagitis (EoE) diagnostics and patient experiences with Catherine Sykes, a clinical scientist, as she presents findings from the ongoing SWALLeOeW study during the EOS Network's Wellbeing Wednesdays Community Chat. The SWALLeOeW study investigates the food bolus function, the use and acceptability of physiology testing, and how these tools are improving EoE diagnostics and treatment. In this video, Catherine shares the study’s key objectives, methods, and emerging findings. Key Highlights: What is EoE? Understanding symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options. Study Methods: High-Resolution Manometry, and 24-hour Impedance Tests explained. Patient Experiences: Qualitative interviews, diagnostic clarity and social/emotional impacts of EoE. Emerging Insights: This research might refine diagnostic pathways and enhance patient care. About the SWALLeOeW Study: The SWALLeOeW study, conducted at University College Hospital and County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, investigates how the oesophagus functions when a food bolus is swallowed and evaluates the use and acceptability of physiology testing for Eosinophilic Oesophagitis (EoE). Recruitment is ongoing, with the study expected to continue until 2025.
