Previous WR was 2:54.60 by red eye jedi. He never shared his run, but his timesave compared to the WR before him ( • 2:55.2 Gwenith Glide (Shark) ) was on te segment starting at 1:49 . After I found the timesave there myself, he shared me his own method for it which turned out to be pretty much identical. The extra tick saved happens in the final segment of the run. Here, I skip the crystal mote. To not lose my non-wind boost, I need a crystallised helm smuggle and break it during this final segment. To save a tick, it is needed to enter the portal zone one tick after collecing the final box. It turns out there is only a single way to do so: be on a very specific quarter-tile and sail with speed 14 towards a specific direction. To have speed 14, wind boost has to run out on this specific tick. This requires activating the last wind boost exactly 37 ticks earlier. Also, to end up on this exact quarter-tile, two well-chosen slowdowns were required. Unlike Marlin, it doesn't seem like Shark has much potential for re-routing boxes or portal orders. I feel like this will be the permanent record, but would like to see me being proven wrong. As you can see, my game is pretty laggy. This made it harder to execute the run. Not sure how to fix this. I already enabled the Low Detail plugin in RuneLite as an attempt to reduce lag. It is probably caused by a combination of older hardware, a resources-intensitive area in OSRS, and video recording.
