On May 24th, 2022, soprano and educator Carol Vaness sat down with OPERA America's President/CEO Marc A. Scorca for a conversation about opera and their life. From the 1980s through early 2000s, soprano Carol Vaness was a leading interpreter of Mozart’s dramatic heroines, including Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Donna Anna and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, and Elettra in Idomeneo. Vaness was also closely identified with the title role of Tosca, and she recently directed the opera for Lyric Opera of Kansas City. She is a distinguished professor of music at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington. This interview was originally recorded on May 24th, 2022.
