Croatia also holds the world record for the smallest town by population—Hum, with only 17 residents. The Dalmatian dog breed originates from the historical region of Dalmatia, and the necktie, known worldwide, traces its origins to Croatian soldiers who wore knotted scarves in the 17th century.
