I Broke Par! @ Alhambra Golf Course (4K)

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut. 🐿 I played my final round of 2024 at our local favorite Alhambra Golf Course with my brother (Alex), my friend (Andrew), and a very impressive junior golfer (Luke). Normally, my Dad would have joined but he had already left the country for his annual trip to visit family. At the time of the video, my GHIN was around a 4-handicap and I usually play once a week. For my level, my goal for each round is to simply try to break 80. Shooting anywhere near even par would be considered a fantastic round. I had low expectations especially after a couple of early bogeys. Thankfully I had some bounce back birdies too which kept hopes alive for a decent round. My strategy that day was "Play Fearlessly". Attack every flag. (Not surprisingly I only hit 5 out of 13 fairways). Also had some camera trouble on the front 9 and didn't record some shots, but really glad it got fixed to capture the hole-out eagle on the back 9! Right after the round, I called my Dad overseas and shared my recollections of the round. 😄 My personal takeaway from this round: Golf, like life, is unpredictable. Stay in the moment. Don’t let setbacks define you. Believe in yourself, take chances, and sometimes… magic happens. About the Course: Alhambra GC is a beautifully maintained, family-friendly course that offers more challenge than its shorter length suggests. (All the people who work there are also amazing!) As I’ve said elsewhere before, this course is a wonderful paradox—it demands ultra-smart, precise play, yet somehow still gives a hack like me a real shot at breaking par. 😌
