Stage 2 took us out 280 towards Asheville then we hooked a left and headed into Turkey Pen before jumping on a slick and slimy squirrel gap. This is one of my favorite stages solely because of squirrel gap. Then we ended the day with a tough huff up over black mtn and finished back where we started. Jerry Dufor and I rode together a lot on this day. We lost contact with the front 3 on the climb up Mullinax to Squirrel then reconnected at the bottom of south mils river before getting dropped on the final climb.
