What's it like finding your cultural roots? | Full Episode | SBS Insight

In this Insight episode, we explore what its like to be mixed race, and how it shapes identity and an understanding of the world. We speak with Sally Gill, whose father is African-American and mother is Irish-English, Sally's father left when she was 3 years old and describes the moment as a 'loss of culture' for her. Sally's daughters, Aurie and Tess now also struggle with their identity. Other guests include Sasha, who has African-American and Aboriginal heritage, and Jordan who grew up in the Sutherland shire with his Filipino mother and white Australian father. Insight also speaks to Christine and Rene, who are both mixed race and have 'tri-racial' children with German, Filipino and West African heritage.
