He was recognized as one of those responsible for the Chernobyl accident. Dyatlov received a large dose of radiation - 390 rem. He was sentenced to 10 years in a general regime colony under Article 220, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR, regardless of whether they were sentenced to prosecution in Kiev, in the Lukyanovskaya prison and then in the prison in the village of Kryukovo. Four years later, after the official signature of the Academy of Sakharov and other prominent scientists, he was released early due to morbidity. He was treated in the burn center in Munich. December 13, 1995, Anatoly Stepanovich Dyatlov died. Interview was recorded in 1994.
