Truing the Tormek stone

This video is about truing the Tormek stone. My stone had a slight wobble when I remounted it after using an other stone on my machine. When that happens you can try loosening it and rotating it a bit on the shaft to find the point where it wobbles the least. Or simply true it using the TT-50 truing tool. I often get chatter when moving the tool towards the stone. I've modified my Tormek 2000 to run faster and that increases chatter. I've definitely voided the warranty but it sharpens faster so I think it was worth it :-) After truing the stone you can use the stone grader to smooth the surface, or just leave it and have a very fast cutting stone. It will smooth itself after some use.
