See how to install a Race Tech Gold Valve Shock kit on a Honda CRF450R in this video from Partzilla.com. We’ve given this bike away in one of our sweepstakes, so we know exactly who is getting it and where they’ll be riding it. Armed with that information, we can install and dial in a custom shock kit on this CRF450R. We’ve chosen a Race Tech Gold Valve shock kit, and John will show you how to put it together step by step. The kit comes with a link so you can get a setup sheet that gives you the shim combination you need to get the shock tuned. We’ll start by drilling the valve, and then we’ll get to putting together the shock assembly. Along the way, we’ll discover that our stack height is a little short. We’ll use spacers to get the height right so that we can lock everything into place. Once we’re done with the assembly, we’ll install the bladder in the housing, get the assembly installed, and seal it up. With that knocked out, we’ll get a Race Tech shock spring installed and show you how to dial all of it in to get the perfect ride.
