Here's more about the Assam Regiment: Formation and Purpose: The Assam Regiment was formed on June 15, 1941, by Lt. Col. Ross Howman. Early Achievements: The regiment quickly proved its mettle, earning six Battle Honours and the Theatre Honour of Burma during World War II. Post-Independence: The Assam Regiment has participated in all major conflicts and operations since India's independence, including the 1947-48 Indo-Pakistani war, the 1962 Sino-Indian war, and the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war. Symbol: The regimental insignia is a Uni-horned Rhinoceros, symbolizing the regiment's toughness, aggressiveness, determination, and martial qualities.
