As standard, Alice sit-stand desks are supplied with a balanced anti-collision setting. This is designed to minimise the risk of personal injury while avoiding unnecessary false triggers caused by minor installation issues, such as imperfect footpad adjustment. For some applications, a higher level of anti-collision sensitivity may be preferred. This can be achieved through a firmware upgrade, which allows us to fine-tune how quickly the desk responds to a detected collision. This video shows how we udpate the firmware using a dedicated tool. It applies to the Alice EDF32X and EDF34X height adjustable sit-stand desks. If your project requires a higher-sensitivity anti-collision setting, we recommend arranging this in advance so the update can be completed in our workshop. Please note that increased sensitivity also means installation will take longer. The installer must carefully adjust all four footpads to ensure the desk is perfectly level, helping to prevent false collision detections.
