CASE UPDATE | Cleo Diko: Killer hid her decomposed body under cement and tiles under his bed

Action Society attended the Mitchells Plain Magistrates Court today for the murder case of Cleo Diko. Sandile Jegwa, a 38-year-old man, is accused of murdering the 34-year-old. Cleo went missing in October last year. Her decomposed body, found with a rope around her neck and hidden under a bed covered with cement and tiles in Mandalay, Cape Town, was discovered on 27 January 2023. At the previous court date, he did not attend the proceedings due to a diphtheria outbreak at Pollsmoor Prison. Today, the defense indicated that they were unable to consult with the accused.
