This weekend we take you to the heart of the Pyrenees, filled with charming villages, cultural exploration, and natural landscapes. Perfect for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility, this itinerary offers a mix of relaxation and adventure. Our adventure starts in Arties, a picturesque village officially recognized as one of "Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España" (The Most Beautiful Villages of Spain), the charming stone houses and narrow cobbled streets that give its timeless appeal. How to get there? Several companies like Alsa operate routes from Barcelona to Vielha, from Vielha, a local bus or taxi can take you to Arties. The total journey takes approximately 6 hours. Driving is the most convenient option, taking around 4 hours (300 km). The scenic drive through the Pyrenees is a highlight in itself. After visiting Arties, we take a short drive to explore two nearby villages, each with its unique character. Unha, a small, picturesque village surrounded by lush forests, rolling hills, and scenic trails, making it a great spot for hiking and nature walks. Bagergue, the highest village in the Pyrenees and also listed among Spain’s most beautiful villages, known for its floral displays and traditional cheese-making. We end our getaway with a hike to the Circ de Colomers, a glacial cirque in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. Distance: Approximately 6–7 km round trip. Time Required: 2-3 hours, Elevation Gain: About 250–300 meters. Difficulty: Moderate, Suitable for hikers with basic fitness. The trail is well-marked but includes rocky sections and moderate ascents.
