Is a $200 1x Budget Drivetrain Worth the Upgrade?

In this video, we follow along as I upgrade the drivetrain on my mountain bike with a more budget-friendly approach. I opted for the Box Three Prime 9 drivetrain, which included a cassette, derailleur, shifter, and chain, all for $211.11. To complete the upgrade, I also added a Ganoper crankset for $39. By removing the front derailleur, old cassette, and heavy 3 by crankset, I was able to save weight and bring my bike into the modern world of drivetrains. After installing the new drivetrain, I hit the test loop to see if it made a difference. The new Box 9 drivetrain proved to be a major upgrade and I'll be sure to share my thoughts on it in a future review.
