Mostly video from the train of a railtour from at least Kidderminster with a Rail Express Systems 47/7 [the tour might have been organised by the Severn Valley Railway Association] to Weymouth Quay via Worcester, Cheltenham, Bristol Temple Meads [33202 & 33204 replacing the 47/7] Bath, Westbury, Castle Cary, Dorchester West and directly on to the Quay tramway where the outbound leg ended. The train then returned to Weymouth station as ECS, along with the usual tramway comedy of negotiating badly parked cars! The last regular passenger trains to Weymouth Quay were in 1987, with only charter trains working down the tramway irregularly until 1999 when it was closed. The return was from Weymouth station via Dorchester South, Wareham, Bournemouth, Southampton [Central], Basingstoke and Reading, where the 33s were removed and a 47/7 replaced them for the return journey. If anyone can fill in the gaps about the 47/7s and routing snippets, it would be appreciated. Quite a bit of wind noise suppression has been applied to the audio on this video, sorry!!
