More or less just regular gameplay. But I'm calling it a speedrun anyway. I decided to play this game for the first time since I was a teenager for a nostalgia trip. I ended up figuring out a strategy to win most games. The Strat: Map: that this game is very luck based with map layout. you are looking for a spawn with atleast 1 spade near you, but not so close that enemys will lock on to fight you when they come over to it. The spades help your frequency of spawning. 1. Ideally one of the two enemy spawns closest to you will have hardly any tiles close to their spawn point. You want to eliminate the one with the fewest. However, green spawns really quickly so eliminating them if they are the closest to you will speed up the whole game, but will be very difficult to pull off. 2. Once you have eliminated one of the teams, you will then attempt to get as many of your guys over to their spawn point as you can, as enemys will only go near it to change tile colours. During this waiting period, eye out which team has the most tiles captured and where all the activity is happening. Once one team has the majority of tiles, You want to send out one of your guys to round up as many of your enemys to fight each other as you can. This can be tricky but you are ultimately trying to lure everyone on the field to the spawn of the enemy with the least tiles. There are a lot of variables to this so play it by ear. 3. wait for all the tiles to be taken by the last team and they are all walking to camp at your spawn point. Capture as many of the spade tiles as you can, splitting up your group to cover as much ground and capturing as possible. You really want to have all your guys alive and with you at this point. As you can see in the clip, I failed to keep all my guys alive and I had one consistently respawning. This becomes an issue because the enemys will fight and kill the guy respawning, causing the enemys to leave your spawn to get more health. Once they get their health, they will go back to capturing the tiles again. You want to avoid this at all costs. 4. Once you have captured all the tiles, send about 3-4 of your guys to the enemys spawn point and the rest to your spawn point to fight. Because you have all (Or most) of the spade tiles, your guys will respawn fast enough to keep fighting. And because the enemy has none or very few spades left, they will respawn at a really slow pace, leaving your 3-4 guys at their spawn an easy job finishing up the enemy respawners. I have used this technique with all the colours and it works for all of them. The only issues come from map layout. So at the beginning of every run, it would be best to get your guys into whatever action you want then quickly scan the map to see if it is Ideal for a run. I tend to use black for runs just out of preference. But I'm sure there is probably an ideally faster colour, and I'd assume that one would be green. But I can imagine it would be a lot harder to get runs going with green mainly for the fact of taking out the first team ASAP.
