This video is dedicated to the memory of the Aquarian Songman Paul Joseph, who passed away five months after the completion of this video. He was invited to give a talk at Nimbin Central School about the 1973 Aquarius Festival. Although willing, his health had by that time deteriorated to the point where he could not participate. He instead suggested contacting Graeme Dunstan, the Festival's director. Speaking on the 42nd anniversary of the 1973 Aquarius Festival, Graeme Dunstan addresses the following questions: 1. What were the origins of the Nimbin Aquarius Festival? 2. How was Nimbin chosen as the location of the Festival? 3. What kind of events took place at the Festival? 4. What is the legacy of the Festival? How did it change Nimbin? Addendum (G.D.): "Afterwards i realised i had forgotten to mention the key words, the slogan, which swayed the town meeting. They came from Col James, the senior tutor in Sydney University School of Architecture. "Recycle the town." Nimbin residents there wanted to renew the village and get young people back. Hence Aquarius as joint venture. (A loose term.)"
