Kajsa Sperling is an architect and lighting designer who has been working at White Arkitekter since 2001. For the last ten years she has worked with lighting design in public spaces. She has worked in the public sector as well as the private sector. Kajsa has in recent years become increasingly interested in darkness and how low lighting levels impact peoples feeling of safety and security in cities. She has seen that increased lighting levels in cities actually cause stress and reduce the wellbeing of people. The aim of her projects is to minimise energy use and work deliberately with light, shadows and darkness. About TEDx, x=independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self- organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers ombine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
