▽ NOCTO vs SONIC AREA - "like tears in rain" EP ▽ https://ant-zen.bandcamp.com/album/li... https://bellaursa.bandcamp.com/album/... 1.kokoro 2.sub drone zone 3.abyss squad 4.game of life glider 5.hack back arco trauma (SONIC AREA) and NOCTO first crossed paths while working in the same studio building. as a mastering engineer, arco handled the mastering for both of NOCTO's albums, as well as those of moYan, the band for which NOCTO plays drums. their collaboration began with a remarkable remix for SONIC AREA’s KI album, released by ant-zen, and led to the creation of a collaborative ep. both artists are deeply passionate about "immersive art," paying meticulous attention to detail and share a fascination for cyberpunk aesthetics. inspired by the labyrinthine 'kowloon walled city', SONIC AREA and NOCTO transport listeners to a dystopian future drenched in perpetual rain. a fusion of blade runner’s stark realism and vangelis’ ethereal soundscapes, their music is blending opposing elements: cold, industrial elements with the subtle poetic naïveté of japanese pop culture, forging a novel genre: 'neo-pop music'. this dense, imaginary metropolis, fragmented into five tracks, invites immersion into a hyper-dense urban jungle - a metropolis bathed in vibrant neon lights. the music pulsates with a contradictory energy: both menacing and alluring. reflecting the resilience of the small and the delicate within a vast, overpowering structure, the forgotten in the crowd, the grain of sand in the gear, the lowlife in the hightech, the hacker in his small room, the little black cat in the cybercity. overwhelmed, but still here...
