Shorter recovery paddle on Lake Martin starting and ending at the Kowaliga boat ramp. I found a nice little quiet spot that I hung out at for a while just enjoying the peaceful calm. It was an 11 mile paddle with a lot of headwind to start off with, but that calmed down after a few hours. Here is the link for the “Share the Road 5k” to honor and remember Raymond Butler, an avid cyclist, runner, canoeist, and overall athlete even at 74 years of age. I ran this last year and it is a great race in Eclectic, AL. The race raises awareness that our roads are meant to be shared. Cyclists have the same legal right as a vehicle to use the roadway therefore drivers need to watch for them and pass with care.
