https://dunebuggywarehouse.com/ Here is a tech tip explaining the differences between early Flat cams and late Dished cams, and which oil pump you need for your VW Type 1 Aircooled Beetle, Fastback, Ghia or Thing engine. A Flat Camshaft was used on stock engines until 1970, and is easily identified by the 3 rivets or bolts holding the cam gear. This style has a flat cam face, and uses an early style oil pump. A Dished Camshaft was used from 1971 and on, and is identified by the 4 rivets holding the cam gear. This style has a dished cam face, and uses a late style oil pump. All performance camshafts are Flat-Cams and use early style oil pumps. Thanks for watching!
