Kevin Barry in conversation with Cauvery Madhavan Kevin Barry is the author of the novels Night Boat To Tangier, Beatlebone, and the City of Bohane and three short story collections, That Old Country Music, Dark Lies The Island, and There Are Little Kingdoms. His awards include the IMPAC Award, the Goldsmiths Prize, the Sunday Times EFG Short Story Prize, the European Union Prize for Literature and the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. His stories and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, and Harpers. He lives in County Sligo, Ireland. Cauvery Madhavan was born in India and moved to Ireland 33 years ago. She is the author of three books of fiction titled Paddy Indian, The Uncoupling, and her latest book The Tainted, which has received much critical acclaim. It was picked as one of Ireland's prestigious An Post’s Top Summer Reads 2020. It was the runner-up in the SAHR Prize for Military Fiction and listed by The Times, UK, in their list of top 40 Historical Fiction novels. Cauvery is also a free-range farmer, an enthusiastic gardener, and a golfer with poorly realized ambitions. She is currently working on her fourth novel.
