First of all, as I just said, it’s a collection of Irish songs, so it’s not just one singular piece. These include: The Gallagher Gal, The Gravelwalk, For the Star of County Down (Not the entire piece, just the individual song), and finally the Rakes of Kildare. Personally, I love the Rakes of Kildare with the 6/8 time and jig-like feel of it. Also, this includes the return of the MIDI which I am now considering for as a replacement for my cellos and bass parts from now on. Now don’t get me wrong, I like transcribing Viola into a cello and bass, but for me, it always felt “hollow”. So, I’m deciding to try out the MIDI and see how well it performs. If y’all like it, great! We’ll keep it! If not, that’s fine too. We can go back to the standard and use Viola.
