And if the lovebird eggs had hatched, these dried pine needles could act as a kind of absorbent for the lovebird chicks' droppings later. Actually, we didn't expect them to lay eggs or breed either. We only intended to provide a place for them to pair up and have their own space so they wouldn't be disturbed by other lovebirds.
