Idaho's only burn center opens at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center

IDAHO FALLS-- Patients throughout the Gem State and region can receive critical burn treatment closer to home thanks to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center's new burn center-- The only burn center in Idaho. “We’re very excited that finally, we are able to take care of patients in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and North and South Dakota,” EIRMC's marketing director Coleen Niemann says. Niemann says before, patients who were injured because of a burn would have to travel out of state to Salt Lake, Seattle, or Denver as those were the nearest burn programs in the region. Now the hosptial has a six-bed burn intensive care unit. EIRMC invested $3 Million in renovations to various departments throughout the hospital and an additional $2 million into new equipment and technology for patient care for the new burn center. “For a long time EIRMC has been the regional healthcare provider serving southeast Idaho, Western Wyoming, and southern Montana.
