🚨 The 2025 NDAA Failed to Fix a Major UCMJ Problem 🚨 I read the 2025 NDAA so you don’t have to, and there are some big changes to the UCMJ. But sadly, one critical reform that would have protected service members got cut from the final bill, and it’s a huge loss for due process. Congress was urged to require that no case go to trial unless there’s enough evidence to sustain a conviction, a basic standard in civilian courts. But guess what? That provision was removed. ❌ Military prosecutors can STILL take weak cases to trial, even with little to no evidence. ⚖️ In civilian courts, prosecutors need a good-faith belief in a conviction. In the military? They don’t. This isn’t justice, it’s stacking the system against the accused. Service members deserve equal legal protections.
