In this video I restore a rusted library book drop box that features a hand-painted elephant. The bottom legs were severely corroded, so I: – Cut out the damaged metal – Welded in new steel patches – Reinforced the base – Repainted the entire unit – Recreated the original elephant design by tracing and repainting it – Reinstalled the drop box at the library The most stressful part wasn’t the welding — it was repainting artwork that’s been part of the community for years.
