A classic map from 2008 by Fiodis, Tientia: Naval Engagement is a concept map where the battle itself takes place over a lake spanning the entire map. Summary: Tientia: Naval Engagement is composed almost entirely of an enormous lake over which the majority of fighting takes place. Scattered across the map are several command posts placed on Kamino or Kashyyyk-esque platforms with a large complex to the side of the map made using Mygeeto assets. This complex often sees a convergence of units from both sides, opening up the opportunity for some infantry-to-infantry combat. The lake itself is extremely deep with few areas that lead back to land, as a result vehicles are crucial for combat and even getting around the map, with reskinned BARC Speeder Bikes and Sabre Tanks for the Republic side and STAPs and Hover Tanks (a brand new model!) for the Pirates and Mercenaries side. To also aid in getting around the map, the author has used some clever scripting and animations to create a 'ferry' (actually a Tatooine Skiff) which travels from platform to platform. The map only supports one era and mode, Clone Wars Conquest, with a revamped 354th Aqua Clone Legion side for the Republic featuring new aqua green skins. The CIS side has been replaced entirely by a Tientian Pirate side made up of Rogue Gungan units, Mercenaries, Stolen Battle Droids and even a playable Astromech Droid! Sadly, there seems to have been little concern for balancing the sides and the Pirate side sport a wide selection of new and extremely powerful weapons that easily overpower the Clone side. Both sides also have a new 'Scuba' unit on both sides which can traverse the bottom of the lake safely by using its personal shield as an air bubble! Bug-wise, there a few noticeable ones which can affect gameplay. When trying to get back on to the platforms by vehicle, there a few clipping issues which can result in your simply jumping out into the water to your death. Furthermore, AI pathing and spawns aren't too great. Often the AI spawn straight into the water where they die quickly, running down the reinforcement count and making game time much shorter. Pros: Cool, unique 'Battle over Water' concept Custom sides: New skins for the Republic side and new models and skins for the Pirate side. New weapons such as Mine Launchers, Waterspout Grenades and Repeating Trail Casters.
