Eve McDavid was a successful Google executive when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2020. She was one month away from giving birth to her second baby. Eve underwent aggressive treatment in New York City during the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic while trying to juggle being a mom to a newborn and toddler. Throughout treatment Eve became deeply aware of her privileges and resources that helped her to reach remission in 2021. As such, Eve left Google with a mission to ensure women across the United States and globally have the same access to care she did. Eve partnered with her Oncologist, Dr Onyinye Balogun, to launch Mission-Driven Tech, a new women's health venture revolutionising gynaecological cancer care for women and physicians. Conquering Cervical Cancer is a feature documentary addressing health disparities, barriers and challenges faced by women in the United States and how industry, non-profits and grassroots organisations are uniting to achieve cervical cancer elimination. Expanding beyond the United States, the film examines the challenges faced by women across the globe, particularly in low-income countries, which, sadly, carry the highest burden of disease.
