Cherepovets is a territory of advanced social and economic development (TOSER). This status is provided by the Ministry of economic development of Russia for single-industry towns and involves a special tax regime for resident enterprises. Resident companies are exempt from property tax, land tax for 10 years, and income tax for the first 5 years. In the next 5 years, the income tax will be 10% instead of 20%. Rates on contributions to extra-budgetary funds have been reduced. Enterprises with investments of at least 20 million rubles for 10 years and creation of at least 20 jobs during the first year from the date of inclusion in the register of residents can become residents of TOSER.
