In a lesson in how to be nimble in public relations, this profile story for September’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month almost never happened. With the reporter suddenly stuck at home due to a fire in his neighborhood, this segment was nearly extinguished as well. Jumping into other options to save the story, instead of the reporter being on site to record the story himself, we brought the story to him to join together in the studio. With provided photos, self-recorded b-roll footage, a pre-planned tour route, Zoom interviews, media training with the employee, and a willing reporter, this inspiring story was still able to be told showing the strength of the human spirit...and the resolve of public relations professionals.
