(28 Jun 1975) General Vo Nguyen Giap was a key figure of the People's Army of Vietnam. In January the South Vietnamese Army began to collapse and Giap was handed a victory he had not expected at that time. After the war General Giap slowly began to disappear form the scene and did not return until the 'Pol Pot problem' developed truly serious dimensions in 1977.
