From Party Hit to Failuretown | "Improving" my ESP32 Party LED Light Stick

This guest-controllable LED light stick was a party hit — built in about 30 minutes and working flawlessly. So of course, I decided to tidy it up and finish it properly. Armed with an ESP32, an addressable LED strip, and WLED, this should have been a simple cosmetic upgrade. Instead, it turned into a tour of bad assumptions, unexpected problems, and multiple enthusiastic but misguided detours to Failuretown. In this video, I document the entire journey — the plans, the pivots, and what happens when you take a perfectly functional project and decide it needs “improvement”. Whether it all ends up as a polished party centrepiece or a dim bulb of disappointment is... unclear.
