anatomy of the suprascapular artery and the circumflex scapular artery: Suprascapular Artery Origin: The suprascapular artery is a branch of the thyrocervical trunk, which arises from the subclavian artery. Course: It travels across the neck, passing behind the clavicle and subclavius muscle, and then runs along the superior border of the scapula. Branches: The artery gives off branches to the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles, as well as the skin over the shoulder. Anastomoses: It anastomoses with the circumflex scapular artery and the dorsal scapular artery. Circumflex Scapular Artery Origin: The circumflex scapular artery is a branch of the subscapular artery, which itself is a branch of the axillary artery. Course: It travels around the lateral border of the scapula, passing through the triangular space formed by the subscapularis, teres major, and long head of the triceps brachii muscles. Branches: The artery gives off muscular branches to the deltoid, teres minor, and triceps brachii muscles, as well as cutaneous branches to the skin overlying the scapula. Anastomoses: It anastomoses with the suprascapular artery and the dorsal scapular artery. These arteries play a crucial role in supplying blood to the muscles and skin around the shoulder, ensuring proper function and movement. #Scapula
