The new product takes the existing Parrot Bebop 2 quadcopter drone and adds a FLIR One thermal imaging sensor to create an integrated thermal imaging solution at a $1,500 price point. Parrot has developed a new, dedicated app called FreeFlight Thermal to work with the new system. The thermal camera is mounted at the rear of the aircraft and, depending on whether the digitally stabilized forward camera or the thermal camera is selected, the flight controls reverse so that the active camera is always at the “front” of the aircraft, as regards user input. The kit arrives in a backpack with three batteries.
