SADDLEWORTH PEDESTRIANS PNFS SIGNPOST INSTALLED 50th ANNIVERSARY 1st October 2020 This video version, my first recording installing a PNFS Signpost on behalf of the Saddleworth Pedestrians was a mistake because I recorded it like all my other videos to please me, allowing me to look back at memories of a walk, event etc I did not consider the anniversary of the Saddleworth Pedestrians who asked for my help to find a good location for their signpost. After feedback from their chairman Colin I changed it to the following video... SADDLEWORTH PEDESTRIANS WALKING CLUB COMMEMORATE THEIR 50th ANNIVERSARY 3rd October 2020    • SADDLEWORTH PEDESTRIANS WALKING CLUB ...   The PNFS Signpost No. 613 has been sponsored by Saddleworth Pedestrians walking club to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of their founding in 1970. The Peds are we are called, were formed by a small group of like-minded people who had a love of walking and the countryside. Their inaugural walk destination was to the Ammon Wrigley Memorial at Dinnerstone Rocks on the Pennine Way above Castleshaw. Since those early beginnings, the Peds have grown into a thriving membership of over 100 members, who walk each Sunday in four groups, each walking in a different location and different distances, ranging from around four miles and flat, to over 15 miles and adventurous. All walks are led by an experienced walk leader. In the summer, we also walk on Tuesday evenings and in the winter enjoy our monthly club nights with guest speakers at the Uppermill Conservative Club.  Members have also completed many of the UK's long-distance walking routes including the Pennine Way, the Coast to Coast, Cotswold Way, St Cuthbert's Way, the Dales Way, etc., and enjoy coach trips and holidays to many parts of the UK. We also have social events taking in visits to the theatre, meals out and local visitor attractions. Why not come and join us? After the installation Ross and I walked back to Greenfield Station down Footpath 107 SADD as the video continues to show. This footpath takes you under The Huddersfield Canal where we headed towards Greenfield crossing over the railway bridge on Footpath 100 SADD and then down the Pennine Bridleway into Greenfield where Ross caught the train and I walked home.
