Epic Atari Space Duel Arcade Restoration!

It's time for another epic restoration video, this time it's Atari's 1980 Asteroids follow-up, Space Duel! Last year was a busy one, with multiple projects going on at the same time, but I couldn't pass up on an opportunity to restore this arcade classic. It started last fall and ended this spring, and I'm excited to share the journey with you. We start by picking up a Street Fighter II cabinet that needs a lot of love. But underneath the layers of paint, remnants of another game grab my attention. With some help, I find that Space Duel lurks beneath. Can we bring it back to life? In this video you'll see one of the most amazing artwork reveals as Cindy strips down the sides of the cabinet. There's a hunt for a rare color vector monitor. Acquisitions of nearly all the parts that made Space Duel work--power supplies, circuit boards, artwork, wiring, buttons--you name it! You'll see cabinet reconstruction, Bondo work, welding, electronics repair. You'll see an old, trashed cabinet sparkle once again, and watch a beautiful and desirable game fire up once again!
