Readying an attack, or spell, in D&D has been done slightly differently in pretty much every edition. 5e is certainly no exception, with the Ready action not only being changed, but completely replacing any opportunity to "delay" your initiative. However, even though readied actions happen in more sessions than they do not, they are woefully misunderstood. Hopefully, one of these tips will either correct a misunderstanding, or give options on how to overcome the weaknesses of readying. If you have any other common misunderstandings, or ways to use it to your advantage, speak up!
