I flew from Madrid to Tenerife North in an Iberia Express A320 on 11th February 2021. It was a very picturesque approach and a little bumpy. Tenerife North Airport (previously called Los Rodeos Airport) was the site of the World's worst air disaster. On 27th March 1977 two Boeing 747 jumbo jets, operated by Pan Am and KLM, collided on the runway in fog. The KLM B747 was taking off and the Pan Am B747 was backtracking along the runway.
