Remote Controller Tester - An Amazingly Simple DIY

This amazingly simple project will allow you to test any remote controller that uses infrared light to communicate with the gadget it is controlling--infrared light is used in most types of remote control systems. This project can be built in less than 5 minutes, does not require soldering and uses only three parts, plus a battery. It is something I designed and built so I could find the trouble with controlling a CD player remotely. BTW I got the system working--it was the remote controller and the problem was a capacitor--more common problems with remote controllers are batteries, battery contacts and the infrared LED itself. This tester simplified my finding the problem immensely.
