All the land at one point in time was occupied and lived upon by the American colonists going back into the 1600s. Many of the built homes and did their best to carve farms out of the unforgiving land that we have here in NH. Many of these homesites where abandoned and left only after a generation of a family living there, but they left behind some clues. In this video I go hiking miles into the NH woods bushwhacking and following game trails until I get my self into a location that feels right. Climbing up on to a high point on the land I start looking for the signs that humans left behind hundreds of years ago. Stacked rocks ! look for any and all old stone walls and follow them. I got lucky on this day and found the old cellar hole foundation of a colonial house so far away from any roads. So with my Garrett ATGOLD metal detector I start looking for relics in the ground. A good day of digging I found a very interesting cufflink the either has crystal or glass on the face with a little red flower inside. A few old buttons, pewter spoon, old tools and more.
